Gulf Plastic Industries was formed in 1968.  It is the first industrial venture to be established in Bahrain by the private sector. It is also amongst the first  plastic processors to be established in the Middle East.

The story of Gulf Plastic Industries (GPI) W.L.L. is a fine example of how success can be achieved when a company is committed to excellence in every area of its operations.

Be it a new product launch, human resources development, investments in the latest technologies, upgrading of manufacturing facilities, formulation of policies and procedures, creation of a healthy work environment or attending to a customer's needs, the goal of GPI has always been the same: to enhance its high standards of excellence.

From its factory located in the heart of the Mina Salman Industrial Area in  Bahrain, GPI commenced operations by producing crates and plastic containers for various applications. Expansion was quick. GPI soon set up an extrusion plant and began manufacturing high quality PVC pipes.

Today GPI manufactures and supplies uPVC pipes for soil, waste, duct, conduit and underground applications; Polyethylene pipes for irrigation and potable water distribution for residential and commercial buildings; pressure pipes for cold water supply, agricultural  and industrial applications and CPVC pipes for hot water distribution. GPI also offers electrical conduit and cable duct pipes as well as sewerage pipes. These products are manufactured to meet various international quality standards. 

Through its association with Gebrit Ltd (makers of fittings) and Durapipe of UK and Redi of Italy, GPI stocks and supplies a range of uPVC fittings and joining materials  which complement the various pipes systems.

Proof of GPI's commitment to quality can be seen from the fact that its products meet the high internationally -recognized standards of manufacture. These standard's include BS, ASTM, DIN, NEMA and AS specifications.

GPI takes pride in its team of highly experienced and skilled professionals. The team is committed to providing efficient and cost- effective solutions for customers backed by reliable after sale support. GPI has continuous in-house training programs to update the skills of its professionals so that they continue to perform to the very high standards expected of them.

GPI has developed a very sophisticated manufacturing facility and the company constantly invests in the latest advances in technology. These investments not only ensure superior products for our customers but also enhance our leadership position in the region.

The company's laboratory is one of the best in the region and is equipped with modern testing apparatus. The company's products are quality tested by independent labs from Bahrain, Kuwait, UK and USA  to meet the expected high International Standards.

GPI also has a well-equipped workshop with skilled technicians to fabricate both conventional PVC fittings as well as other specific requirements of customers.

We provide  assistance in designing and finding solutions to replace their existing network of GI,  cast iron or asbestos cement pipes and fittings with  PVC system.

We take contract to fabricate and install pipes with custom made PVC fittings for the customer at his site. (Factories, ships, repair yard etc.)

They say the customer is the best judge. GPI is proud to have a long list of satisfied customers, most of them engaged in the key sectors of developing Gulf Co-operation Council's (GCC)  economies and infrastructure. In Bahrain the customers include "Alba, Asry, Bahrain International Exhibition Center, Batelco, Bapco, Central Stores Directorate,  Civil Aviation Directorate, Ministry of Housing and Public Works Department."
